Foreword

Welcome to the new issue of Military Vehicle Systems (MVS), 2 major conflicts have happened in 2026, the continuing Ukraine war and the hostilities in the Middle East. The wars are increasingly being fought by air and drone power, driving advances in onboard AI and radar systems, allowing quick identification and target elimination, on the move, rather than static in the field. This enhances the protection of onboard troops while significantly increasing the vehicle's operational capability; we have a very interesting article from Echodyne on this subject. As always you can follow new technological advances and ask any questions at the project website: www.militaryvehiclesystems.com.

We have some interesting articles from our established, and new countries, on recent developments. With the German Army we look at how their units fared in Norway on an Arctic warfare exercise. Solarcore's products, with their next-generation thermal solutions would have helped, please look at their article, using a fabric pioneered for NASA's space programme.

The US Army reflects on its casualty evacuation training during operation Sword, Sabrn Tech's pod system could have been a new solution and is worth a read.

The British Army look at their new capabilities in the field, which links in with articles from Ultra and Soucy Defense on their advanced rubber tracks for vehicles.

The Australian Army puts the Bushmaster to the test and we have the latest from Schroth on their new blast seats. We are also with Australia looking at their signals warfighting exercises and we look at Thales' SquadNet, along with the future of battlefield communications with DTC and Invisio.

We have a final article from the Australian Army looking at deployment of new vehicles. With Lemo and ODU we look at the future of connectors and their importance to effective vehicle operations.

The programme list is completely updated, allowing you to look at what major militaries are buying. As always if you have any comments, good or bad, please email me.
